Our vision

Founded in 2016 by Dr. Marjolein Wildwater and Dr. Gerrit Keizer, Vivaltes emerged from an NC3Rs-funded project with a mission to revolutionise toxicological and medicinal research. Initially based at Hogeschool Utrecht, Vivaltes focused on reducing the reliance on animal research by providing cutting-edge C. elegans wet lab testing.

In 2018, the company secured funding to develop the AI/ML platform Herb-Paths, marking a pivotal shift toward integrating data science with in vivo testing. This innovative approach enabled clients to explore new frontiers in research and development.

By 2022, Vivaltes expanded its operations to Bunnik, The Netherlands, where it established a state-of-the-art laboratory designed to support its growing capabilities. The long-anticipated launch of Herb-Paths in 2024 solidified Vivaltes' position as a leader in using advanced technologies to drive innovation in scientific research.

Since its inception, Vivaltes has consistently delivered impactful results to international clients across diverse sectors, including nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, petrochemicals, and more. The company has earned numerous awards and evolved into a thriving organisation supported by an international team united by a shared vision: driving innovation while maintaining a steadfast commitment to reducing animal testing.
